One of the largest specialized exhibition venues in Ukraine—and among the biggest in Eastern Europe
Ukrainian entrepreneur Maksym Krippa has purchased the International Exhibition Centre, reinforcing his commitment to key Ukrainian infrastructure projects during a time of war.
“Investing in Ukraine today is an investment in the country’s future and a sign of confidence in its long-term recovery.”— Maksym Krippa, CEO of ARS Capital
Maksym Krippa, a Ukrainian entrepreneur, has purchased the International Exhibition Centre (IEC)—Ukraine’s largest specialized exhibition complex, and one of the biggest such venues in Eastern Europe. This transaction represents yet another significant investment in a Ukrainian asset during Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
The International Exhibition Centre covers more than 73,000 square meters (786,000 square feet), with nearly 38,700 square meters (416,400 square feet) dedicated to exhibition space. The site includes four exhibition pavilions, conference halls, and supporting facilities designed to host large-scale events.
The IEC is used for professional trade shows, international conferences, congresses, business forums, and cultural gatherings. In 2017, it served as one of the primary locations for the Eurovision Song Contest, reinforcing its standing as a major international event venue in Ukraine.
This acquisition occurs as Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine continues, following the invasion that began in February 2022.
In Maksym Krippa’s view, investing in large Ukrainian assets during wartime holds significance not only from a business standpoint but also as a demonstration of faith in the nation’s long-term prospects.
“Investing in Ukraine today is an investment in the country’s future. During a full-scale war, it is especially important to preserve and develop major Ukrainian assets, support jobs and economic activity, and create a foundation for the country’s future recovery,” Krippa stated.
Krippa noted that investments in major infrastructure assets are made with a long-term outlook and can help drive Ukraine’s economic recovery and growth once the war concludes.
The IEC now joins the portfolio of assets held by Krippa’s ARS Capital holding company. His business interests span real estate, technology, gaming, and media. Krippa owns esports organization NAVI, game developer GSC Game World (known for the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series), streaming company Maincast, and mobile game developer Burny Games.
With the acquisition of the International Exhibition Centre, Krippa’s portfolio now includes a major exhibition and congress venue, featuring infrastructure capable of handling large-scale professional, business, cultural, and international events.
This investment highlights the growing role of private capital in preserving and advancing major Ukrainian infrastructure and business assets during wartime, while laying the groundwork for their future development and integration into the nation’s post-war economic recovery.
