The Sustainable Richmond Expo 2026 has officially opened its exhibitor application process for this debut gathering, which will unite businesses, nonprofits, government agencies, and community groups engaged in sustainability efforts within Richmond and its neighboring areas.

Scheduled for Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., this complimentary public event will be held at City Council Chambers, 440 Civic Center Plaza, Richmond, California. Exhibitor tables come at no cost. Eligible groups must be situated in, provide services to, or conduct operations in Richmond, or otherwise back sustainability projects that benefit the Richmond community.

“Richmond is home to businesses and organizations doing remarkable work across sustainability — but that work is often invisible to the broader community. The Expo changes that. It creates a space for residents to discover what is happening in their own city, while giving participating organizations a chance to connect, exchange ideas, and build relationships that extend well beyond a single event — and well beyond Richmond,” stated Jesson de Leon from the Economic Development Department.

Exhibitor categories include nine distinct areas: Green Tech & Renewable Energy, Climate Justice & Environmental Equity, Urban Farming & Food Sustainability, Hydroponic Farming/Gardening, Industrial Hemp & Sustainable Materials, Youth Innovation & Education, Electric Vehicles & Clean Transportation, Faith-Based & Community Action, and Art & Culture.

Companies, nonprofit entities, public agencies, academic institutions, and entrepreneurs whose work fits within these categories are urged to submit applications. The Expo provides participants with a chance to boost their public profile, engage directly with Richmond locals and officials, and forge connections with others in the sustainability field.

Opening ceremonies kick off at 11 a.m., featuring city representatives. Admission is free, and the event is open to everyone.
The Sustainable Richmond Expo 2026 is organized by the Sustainability/Business, Industrial Hemp Subcommittee of the Richmond Economic Development Commission, with backing from the Economic Development Department.
