A three-year term, plus an option for two additional years, pairs an instant Wi-Fi 7 rollout with thorough, venue-specific tech assistance.

With connectivity playing a larger role in every facet of an event, we require a partner who grasps both the technical side and the inner workings of our convention center”— Lance ZanettDENVER, CO, UNITED STATES, September 17, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Smart City Networks, the top national supplier of technology services for the convention and events sector, has been granted a new three-year contract, with a two-year renewal option to keep serving as the exclusive technology services partner at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver. This new deal extends a relationship that started in 1998, marking close to thirty years of joint effort, regional backing, and tech strategizing.

Under this contract, Smart City Networks will start rolling out Wi-Fi 7 right away, with the upgrade slated for completion by 2027. This enhancement will modernize the venue’s wireless base and broaden its capacity to handle the rising volume of devices, software, and connectivity needs that come with today’s events.

Smart City Networks carried out the nation’s first convention center Wi-Fi 7 rollouts at the Henry B. González Convention Center in San Antonio and the Miami Beach Convention Center. Those projects bring established expertise to the Colorado Convention Center upgrade and are part of a wider, venue-centric strategy that covers infrastructure planning, network design and setup, on-location assistance, and custom event services aimed at venues, coordinators, exhibitors, and attendees.

“As connectivity becomes more important to every part of an event, we need a partner that understands both the technology and the way our convention center operates,” said Lance Zanett, General Manager at Legends Global. “Smart City’s specialized knowledge and range of support coupled with our on-site team led by Debbie Olivas and Jim Snook were the major differentiators for us in our decision to continue our partnership.”

Smart City Networks will collaborate closely with the Colorado Convention Center team throughout the Wi-Fi 7 rollout, syncing planning and setup with the venue’s operational needs and event calendar. The resulting wireless setup will deliver increased capacity, efficiency, and performance for the heavy-use demands typical of conventions, trade shows, and other large gatherings.

“Convention centers and event venues are not one part of our business. They are our only business,” said Mark Haley, President of Smart City Networks. “That focus allows us to share best practices and learnings from our other convention centers within our portfolio. Our long-standing relationship with the Colorado Convention Center reflects the value of bringing strategy, infrastructure, implementation, local service, and event support together through a single experienced team.”

Given that convention center and event tech is Smart City Networks’ sole focus, its solutions are crafted exclusively around venue operations rather than repurposed from a broader commercial tech framework. This background enables the company to support both long-range infrastructure objectives and the day-to-day needs of events via a steady partnership.
