The European Life Settlement Association (ELSA) has unveiled the agenda and finalized the speakers for the Dublin Life Settlement Symposium 2026, scheduled for 15 September 2026 in Dublin, Ireland. The symposium will gather key figures from the legal, investment, and life settlement communities for an afternoon of expert insights, discussions, and networking.
A keynote address by Professor Federico Fabbrini will kick off the conference. He is Full Professor of EU Law and Founding Director of the Dublin European Law Institute at Dublin City University, and also a Fulbright Schuman Fellow in International Security at Harvard Kennedy School.
Professor Fabbrini's talk will explore the ongoing effects of Brexit on financial services and international markets, offering attendees expert analysis of the shifting European legal and geopolitical landscape and establishing the context for the day's sessions.
Next, the programme will focus on Ireland's position in the global life settlement market through a panel discussion featuring David Naughton from Byrne Wallace Shields. This session will examine the nation's legal and regulatory framework, recent developments, and the opportunities for investors and market participants operating across Europe.
After the afternoon break, Sherry Duarte of Fifth Season Investments will chair a dedicated litigation session with Khai LeQuang of Orrick and James Westerlind of ArentFox Schiff. This panel unites top legal professionals to discuss major litigation, emerging legal risks, and recent regulatory shifts affecting the life settlement market, along with the practical consequences for investors, providers, and advisers.
The symposium will then feature a presentation by Manu Mazumdar of Conning, who will reveal the initial findings from the Conning/ELSA Investor Sentiment Survey. Delegates will receive an exclusive first look at institutional investor attitudes, market confidence, and the opportunities and challenges shaping the future of the life settlement market.
The event will close with a panel titled Artificial Intelligence – Misuse, Overuse and No Use, featuring Matthew Sheridan of the Health Data Analytics Institute (HDAI) and Martin Kramer of Longevity Holdings. This session will delve into the practical use of AI in the life settlement industry, discussing where the technology provides genuine value, where risks persist, and how companies can differentiate meaningful innovation from unnecessary complexity.
An evening networking reception will follow the conference, allowing attendees to continue conversations and connect with peers from across the global life settlement community.
