One of the internet’s most famous pet raccoons was stolen from his home Monday night in a brazen theft captured on doorbell camera, leaving his owners devastated and the online community that has followed him for years in shock.
Sanchez, known to millions as “Señor Sanchez” or “the sleepiest little trash panda,” vanished from his Jupiter residence while his family was out celebrating their anniversary. When they returned, the raccoon was gone. Not hiding in his usual spots. Not asleep in his famous drawer den. Simply gone.
Security footage from the front of the house shows a hooded individual in dark clothing running from the property with Sanchez in their arms. The raccoon appears calm in the thief’s grasp as the person hurries down the walkway into the night. The timestamp on the video reads August 31, 2026, at approximately 8:34 p.m.
What has baffled investigators is how the person got inside. The front-door camera never recorded anyone entering the home. Jupiter Police spent hours at the residence trying to determine the point of entry.

Who Is Sanchez?
Sanchez is not an ordinary raccoon. He is a legally owned Class III permitted animal who lives with his owners, competitive fishing content creator Bri Andrassy and her husband Rob, along with his mischievous blonde sister Luna (often called “The White One” in their videos).
The pair became internet stars through the accounts @sancheztheraccoon on TikTok and Instagram. Their TikTok page has 483,000 followers and more than 32 million likes. Individual videos have racked up enormous numbers — one Friday update featuring Sanchez in his drawer has more than 38 million views, another recovery-cam clip more than 13 million. Instagram reels regularly hit tens of millions of views.
Sanchez’s signature personality made him a favorite. He is famous for sleeping in a small desk drawer that he treats as his “den,” refusing cushions or padding and preferring tight spaces like a true den animal. He jealously guards a collection of “preciouses,” including a small ring he often holds while sleeping. Luna frequently raids his den, leading to ongoing sibling storylines that fans follow like a sitcom. Sanchez is also known for his deep sighs, loud yawns, tail twitches during REM sleep, and distinctive chitters.
The family has always emphasized that both raccoons are legally owned under Florida’s Class III wildlife permit system.
Previous Controversy
This is not the first time Sanchez has been at the center of a high-profile incident.
