State legislators and Worthington Chamber representatives join forces to welcome fast-growing security firm to Columbus

Meridian Rapid Defense Group, an American security firm whose quickly deployable mobile barriers safeguard major public gatherings and communities nationwide, has once again broadened its footprint with the launch of its new hub in Columbus, Ohio, catering to the central and northwestern parts of the United States.
The launch event featured Meridian CEO and Founder Peter Whitford; Ohio State Senators Bill DeMora, who serves Ohio’s 25th Senate District, and Hearcel F. Craig, representing Ohio’s 15th Senate District; alongside Annina Parini, President and CEO of the Worthington Area Chamber of Commerce.
This new Columbus hub strengthens Meridian’s nationwide operations and establishes a key strategic position for serving clients across that region. “We’re incredibly thankful that Meridian selected the Worthington area for its hub,” remarked Annina Parini. “We take great pride in welcoming them as part of the Worthington community.”

Peter Whitford highlighted that the Columbus hub underscores Meridian’s deep commitment to Ohio. “We’re establishing ourselves here because we truly want to foster relationships not just in the city, but across Ohio and the surrounding region,” Whitford noted. He also emphasized the increasing demand for rapidly deployable security solutions amid a growing array of challenges. “With disasters on the rise, from tornadoes and floods to fires and numerous other incidents, the need for our products to safeguard people and preserve lives has never been greater,” he added.
Senator Bill DeMora expressed newfound respect for the technology during the launch. “In just the fifteen minutes I’ve spent here, I’ve gained more insight into these barriers than I ever had before,” DeMora said. “I’m delighted to be present and excited that they’re establishing operations in Ohio.”
Senator Hearcel F. Craig underscored the critical nature of Meridian’s mission to protect communities. “This work is essential,” Craig stated. “Your efforts to ensure public safety are vital, critical, and absolutely crucial for all our families and children.”
