The event will delve into how these evolving factors impact corrosion management, pipeline integrity, and long-term asset reliability.
Organized by the AMPP Carolinas Chapter, the conference adopts the central theme “Pipeline Integrity,” with a spotlight on safeguarding the infrastructure that drives energy delivery.

Focus on pipeline integrity, corrosion control, and new technologies
The agenda includes presentations from the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) and the local 8-1-1 office, alongside discussions with pipeline operators, with representatives from Enbridge and Colonial already confirmed. Sessions will cover both time-tested corrosion prevention methods and issues transforming pipeline and energy infrastructure, such as cathodic protection, protective coatings and linings, inspection techniques, material selection, AC interference, reconductoring, regulatory shifts, and other emerging topics.
Josh Schmeisser, MESA Products, Technical Program Co-Chair, noted that the breadth of subjects mirrors the growing complexity of decisions faced by pipeline integrity professionals.
“Integrity challenges nowadays rarely fall neatly into a single technical category,” Schmeisser said. “Coatings, cathodic protection, interference, inspection, data, and operational conditions all shape our understanding of asset performance. Consolidating these viewpoints enables professionals to examine systems more holistically and make smarter choices.”
Beyond technical sessions, attendees can engage with peers, manufacturers, service providers, and other industry players in the exhibit hall and at conference networking functions.
A co-located rectifier course on Monday, Oct. 19, will offer instruction on rectifier operation, functions, and fundamental troubleshooting through lectures and hands-on practice. On Wednesday, Oct. 21, AMPP will host Basic Corrosion Overview: An Overview, a supplementary educational course scheduled after the main conference.
Networking and community events feature the AMPP Carolinas Scholarship Fundraiser Golf Tournament, a Welcome Reception in the exhibit hall, an Exhibitor Happy Hour, and a Tuesday evening social gathering.
The conference welcomes engineers, asset owners, operators, inspectors, contractors, consultants, and corrosion and coatings specialists involved in pipeline integrity, energy infrastructure, and asset performance. Participation is open to professionals across North America and globally.
