Legrand turns Atlanta’s sci-fi Mothership Sirius B into a hands-on climate mission

When Atlanta hosts its first-ever Climate Week this October, the conversation about sustainability won’t stay confined to panel rooms and keynote stages. Hip-hop artist and climate advocate Legrand is staging an alternative — an immersive evening that wraps environmental action in science fiction, music, and community engagement.

On October 15, hip-hop artist and climate advocate Legrand invites Atlanta to explore a greener future through immersive art, music and interactive missions.

“It’s not going to be a typical just-a-bunch-of-speakers-and-the-same-old-thing event. It’s going to be a very active, engaging event with giveaways, so definitely keep that same green energy.” — Legrand, Founder of Keep That Same Green Energy

ATLANTA, GA, UNITED STATES, October 9, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — As Atlanta marks its inaugural Climate Week, hip-hop artist and climate advocate Legrand is bringing a different kind of environmental gathering to the city. His event, ATLiens Board the Mothership to a Greener Future, trades the familiar conference format for an evening of music, interactive missions and community connection across two of Atlanta’s distinctive cultural spaces.

Guests start their journey inside Mothership Sirius B, a three-story science-fiction art installation crafted by Atlanta artist Fabian Williams — better known as Occasional Superstar — alongside co-creator Sindy Guerrero-Williams.

The installation houses 51 original works that probe how futuristic narratives mirror our present-day reality, including contributions from Atlanta students envisioning tomorrow. That makes it a fitting backdrop for an event that asks attendees to imagine — and shape — the future they want to see.

A Climate Mission Beyond the Conference Room

This isn’t an evening designed around passively viewing art or listening to speeches. Instead, participants begin with a space shuttle boarding and a captain’s address, then receive crew assignments and dive into activities built to make climate engagement hands-on. Short mission reports, music, and themed experiences are woven through the night, along with keepsakes and chances to mingle with other attendees.

From there, the experience moves through Atlanta’s historic Sweet Auburn district to A Ma Maniére’s Edgewood flagship, where fashion, art, and hospitality converge. The night is slated to wrap with a rooftop toast near FLYBOY, the large-scale sculpture by contemporary artist Hebru Brantley.

The unconventional structure reflects a deliberate push to make environmental engagement more participatory — bringing people together through shared experiences rather than one-way presentations.

Making Climate Action Part of Everyday Culture

Behind the imaginative format sits a straightforward belief: climate action shouldn’t feel like a conversation reserved for experts. That conviction drives Legrand’s work through Keep That Same Green Energy, an initiative bridging his hip-hop roots with environmental advocacy.

Through music, podcast discussions, and community outreach, Legrand aims to weave sustainability into everyday culture. The movement urges people to commit to at least one action that contributes to a healthier planet. ATLiens Board the Mothership to a Greener Future takes that philosophy off the airwaves and into a shared, physical experience.

For independently organized events that bring together different communities and interests, reaching people beyond existing networks can be just as vital as the experience itself. Through event discovery and media outreach, AllEvents is helping introduce the Mothership gathering to potential attendees across Atlanta. The effort adds visibility to an experience blending art, culture, and environmental action, while showing how event discovery and promotion can help independent organizers connect their ideas with new audiences.

A Different Way to Experience Atlanta Climate Week

Running October 10–15, Atlanta’s inaugural Climate Week gathers organizations, entrepreneurs, climate advocates, and residents to tackle environmental challenges and explore avenues for action. The effort is part of the Climate Week Network, which links more than 30 climate weeks globally, tying local initiatives into a broader international movement.

On the initiative’s final scheduled day, the Mothership gathering offers a distinctly Atlanta take on that mission, fusing sustainability with the city’s creative identity. While other events throughout the week examine climate solutions through panels, discussions, and community projects, Legrand’s event approaches the subject through art, music, and active participation.

The experience begins with something immediate: bringing people together, making environmental engagement approachable, and nudging them to consider their next step. After all, imagining a better future is one thing. Feeling that you have a part in creating it is another.

Why it matters: By turning a sci-fi art installation into a climate engagement hub, Legrand is testing whether cultural experiences can draw new audiences into environmental action — a model that could resonate far beyond Atlanta’s first Climate Week.
