AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS, October 6, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Rewind, the SaaS resilience platform, has introduced backup and recovery support for Xray and ScriptRunner within Rewind Backups for Jira. These two applications rank among the most frequently installed in the Atlassian Marketplace. The launch coincides with Atlassian Team '26 Europe, as businesses speed up their transitions ahead of Atlassian's March 2029 Data Center end-of-life date.
Atlassian reports that 99% of its user base is either already on the cloud or heading there, with 75% of enterprise and regulated customers included. The applications those teams rely on for their workflows migrate alongside them.
Within Xray, the primary concern is compromised traceability. Tests, preconditions, test plans, and test sets are interconnected across multiple release cycles spanning years. A mass edit, an erroneous script, or an accidental removal can break those connections, and previously, no automated solution existed to restore them. For financial services, medical device companies, and other regulated industries, these records frequently act as proof for auditors.
For ScriptRunner, the danger lies in silent breakdowns. When a scheduled job or script listener gets removed or overwritten, Jira does not generate any error notification. The automation just stops functioning, and without version history, administrators lack any record of what was altered or when.
With this latest update, Rewind:
Performs daily backups of Xray test data and ScriptRunner scripts, jobs, and listeners, along with the remainder of the Jira instance.
Enables restoration of a single test or script, or a full rollback of an entire test suite or ScriptRunner configuration to a specific point in time.
Reconstructs data in dependency order, directly in place, ensuring that links between tests, plans, and executions remain intact after recovery.
"Building a test suite or a collection of ScriptRunner scripts takes years. It holds the collective knowledge, the reasoning, and the decisions a team has accumulated over time. Retrieving a copy was never the difficult part. Restoring the connections and the logic, and placing that data back where it belongs, is the true obstacle that Rewind addresses," said James Ciesielski, Co-Founder and CPTO at Rewind.
"We have heard this directly from enterprise teams using Xray and ScriptRunner. This is data their operations rely on, and it warrants the same level of protection as the rest of their Jira environment. That's the safety net Rewind is designed to provide, the SaaS resilience platform supporting every tool a team operates on. Our investment in third-party app coverage continues, with Tempo backups planned for later this year," said Conrad Bach, CRO at Rewind.
Availability
Backup and recovery for Xray and ScriptRunner are currently available within the Advanced and Enterprise tiers of Rewind Backups for Jira. Rewind is showcasing this release at booth #201 during Team '26 Europe, held at RAI Amsterdam from Oct. 6–8. Additional details can be found at rewind.com
