CodeBaby AI Avatars to Greet and Assist Attendees at Water Council ReFRESH Event

Holographic conversational avatars from CodeBaby will be on hand to assist summit participants with navigation, sponsor information, and Milwaukee recommendations

Events typically overload attendees with information, but individuals still need to hunt for answers—when conversational AI enters the picture, they can just ask.— Norrie Daroga, CEO of CodeBaby

CodeBaby, which specializes in real-time conversational AI avatars, is stepping in as an in-kind sponsor for The Water Council's ReFRESH: Resilience in Freshwater Summit, scheduled for Oct. 13–14 at Discovery World in Milwaukee. Under this sponsorship, CodeBaby is supplying two conversational AI avatars that will be showcased on Proto hologram devices, offering attendees a direct look at how AI can simplify access to information through everyday dialogue.

ReFRESH unites representatives from government, industry, and academia to tackle some of the water sector's most stubborn issues, such as outdated infrastructure, AI safeguards, labor gaps, and climate-related pressures. The 2026 gathering is set for Discovery World, located along Milwaukee's lakefront.

During the event, attendees will interact with two distinct CodeBaby avatars, each with a specific role. One avatar will be stationed at the reception desk, functioning as an interactive guide for the summit. Visitors can pose questions about the schedule, presenters, breakout sessions, Discovery World, and event details, relying on natural speech instead of flipping through a printed agenda or browsing a website.

The other avatar will appear at the summit's networking gathering, where it will aid attendees in discovering more about event sponsors and exploring Milwaukee. Guests can seek suggestions for dining, attractions, and sightseeing, with sponsor-related recommendations included when relevant.

"Most events provide attendees with a tremendous amount of information, but people still have to search for what they need," said Norrie Daroga, CEO of CodeBaby. "This is a great example of what happens when you add the power of conversational AI to information that already exists. Instead of searching through an agenda, looking for venue information or trying to figure out where to go for dinner, attendees can simply ask."

This initiative also highlights a larger opportunity for organizations to transform their current data and content into conversational experiences. Rather than replacing event programs, websites, databases, or other information resources, conversational AI offers a more intuitive way for people to engage with the material organizations have already produced.

"ReFRESH is designed to bring people together around new ideas, meaningful conversations, and collaboration, so we're excited to give attendees another innovative way to engage with the summit," said Karen Frost, executive director of The Water Council. "The CodeBaby avatars will make it easier for attendees to find the information they need while also creating a fun and interactive way to learn more about our sponsors, our venue and the city of Milwaukee."
