Dirt & Glitter plant show debuts at Atlantic Station with drag queen VIP party

Atlanta’s plant community is about to get a weekend-long celebration that pairs greenery with glamour, as The Greenhouse Social launches its first-ever Dirt & Glitter Plant Show at Atlantic Station. The event, running Oct. 16-18, transforms the former Forever 21 space into a two-floor hub for plant lovers, local makers, and anyone curious about the houseplant craze.

Three-day Atlanta plant show opens with a Friday VIP preview featuring early shopping and a drag show

The event is designed to appeal to everyone from serious collectors hunting for rare specimens to novices just trying to keep their first pothos alive. Organizers say the show is intentionally inclusive of all experience levels, with a vendor lineup that spans beginner-friendly options and hard-to-find collector pieces.

The Greenhouse Social, an Atlanta-area event company known for its plant markets and Plant Bingo nights, is behind the inaugural show. The weekend kicks off Friday, Oct. 16, from 6 to 10 p.m. with a VIP Party Preview, giving early ticket holders first dibs on shopping, an exclusive swag bag, and a live performance from Atlanta drag queen and self-described plant mama Gigi Diamond. VIP admission is $35 and includes access to the show all weekend long.

General admission opens Saturday with a full roster of plant growers, shops, artists, makers, and other local businesses. Attendees can browse everything from low-maintenance houseplants to rare collector finds, alongside pots, botanical art, gifts, and other plant-inspired goods. Food, drinks, and entertainment will also be on hand throughout the weekend.

“The plants are what get people in the door, but the community is really what it’s about,” said Steven Crafton-Karnes, co-founder of The Greenhouse Social. “Our customers become our friends, and our friends become our vendors. That happens all the time in the plant community. Dirt & Glitter is another chance to bring all of those people together, and hopefully introduce some new people to it too.”

The vendor list includes numerous Georgia-based businesses, plus specialty growers and sellers traveling in from out of state. That mix gives attendees the chance to support familiar local favorites, discover new shops, and track down unique plants and products they won’t find elsewhere.
