The INDIEWOOD FILM FESTIVAL launched for the first time last month at the TCL Chinese 6 Theatres in Hollywood, California—one of America’s most renowned screening venues. This well-attended festival, which previously operated under the name Silicon Beach Film Festival, adopted the new INDIEWOOD FILM FESTIVAL branding to highlight the constructive influence independent filmmakers have on both the industry and Hollywood.
The event kicked off with a networking gathering at The Hollywood Rooftop Restaurant & Bar by Madame Tussauds on Thursday, September 10th. Movie screenings started on Friday, September 11, and continued across two theatre screens through Thursday, September 16th.
An awards ceremony occurred on Friday, September 18th at the TCL Chinese 6 Theatre, where Festival Director Jon Gursha and Festival Programmer Peter Greene handed out more than 100 film and screenplay honors. Twenty percent of all entries in the festival received an award.
