GenBio taps ex-biotech exec Brandon Zipp to guide push from nature to medicine

When a small biotech company recruits a veteran executive known for navigating the treacherous path from lab bench to market, it signals a serious shift from pure discovery to disciplined development. That is exactly what GenBio Inc. just did.

Dr. Brandon Zipp Ph.D.

Experienced biotech executive and scientist brings expertise in strategy, preclinical development, due diligence, and commercialization to GenBio.

ALISO VIEJO, DE, UNITED STATES, October 8, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — ALISO VIEJO, Calif., September __, 2026 — GenBio Inc., a biotechnology company advancing nature-derived discoveries into proprietary therapeutic development programs, today announced the addition of Brandon J. Zipp, Ph.D., to the Company’s Scientific Advisory Board.

Dr. Zipp will serve as a Scientific Advisor, providing strategic scientific and development guidance as GenBio continues to advance its portfolio of therapeutic research programs, including BlockR™, focused on inflammatory biology; ResistR™, focused on antimicrobial resistance; and ProlifR™, the Company’s emerging oncology research program.

Dr. Zipp brings a multidisciplinary background spanning biotechnology leadership, scientific strategy, research and preclinical development, scientific due diligence, commercialization planning, and the evaluation of emerging life-science technologies.

His advisory work with GenBio is expected to include review and assessment of scientific programs, research and preclinical development strategy, experimental design and data evaluation, research prioritization, coordination with laboratories and CROs, scientific input into intellectual-property strategy, development and regulatory planning, and evaluation of potential strategic partnerships, licensing opportunities and acquisition matters.

Strengthening the Path from Discovery to Development

GenBio has been building an integrated development model designed to move promising nature-derived discoveries through a disciplined progression of biological validation, mechanism characterization, intellectual-property protection and preclinical de-risking.

The addition of Dr. Zipp further strengthens the scientific expertise surrounding that process.

“Brandon joins GenBio at an important stage in our development,” said Giles Tilley, CEO and Managing Director of GenBio Inc. “We have moved beyond viewing our discoveries as individual research projects and have organized them into clearly defined therapeutic programs with distinct scientific, intellectual-property, and development objectives. Brandon’s experience will provide another valuable perspective as we determine how best to advance those opportunities.”

GenBio Director and Chief Marketing Officer Todd D. Sonoga added:

“The evolution of GenBio has been deliberate. We are assembling the scientific, intellectual-property, and strategic expertise necessary to evaluate each program not only for its scientific potential, but also for its ability to create meaningful long-term value. Brandon brings a combination of scientific understanding and biotechnology business perspective that complements the team we are building.”

Three Programs. One Development Strategy.

GenBio’s current therapeutic-development portfolio is organized around three principal research programs:

BlockR™ — inflammatory biology and the investigation of differentiated approaches to inflammation-related pathways.

ResistR™ — antimicrobial resistance, including research involving mechanisms associated with bacterial defense and treatment resistance.

ProlifR™ — emerging oncology research focused on abnormal cellular proliferation and potential opportunities associated with colorectal cancer research.

While each program addresses a distinct area of biology, they are united by GenBio’s broader development philosophy: identify differentiated biological activity from nature-derived sources, understand how that activity works, establish defensible intellectual property, and progressively de-risk the most promising discoveries toward therapeutic and strategic potential.

Building Scientific and Strategic Depth

Dr. Zipp’s appointment is part of GenBio’s continuing effort to expand the external expertise surrounding its scientific programs as the Company prepares for additional research, preclinical development, intellectual-property expansion and strategic engagement with pharmaceutical and biotechnology organizations.

The Company intends to continue evaluating opportunities for strategic partnering, licensing, asset divestment and potential corporate transactions as its programs reach appropriate development and value-inflection points.

“GenBio has assembled an intriguing portfolio of research programs originating from biologically active natural sources,” said Dr. Zipp. “I look forward to working with the Company and its scientific collaborators to evaluate these programs rigorously, prioritize development opportunities and help define pathways capable of translating promising science into meaningful therapeutic and strategic opportunities.”
