According to the BOI, 880 high-tech projects have been approved, while THECA 2026 is set to bring together over 300 global companies and 7,000 industry professionals.
BANGKOK, THAILAND, August 4, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Over the last three years, Thailand has secured more than $26.8 billion (approximately 900 billion baht) in investment applications for its semiconductor and advanced electronics industries, reinforcing its status as a key beneficiary of the worldwide shift away from traditional manufacturing centers in the supply chain.
Fueled by rising global demand for artificial intelligence, next-generation chips, electric vehicles, and high-performance computing, Thailand attracted 880 high-tech projects from 2023 through mid-2026. A significant driver has been the printed circuit board (PCB) segment, which contributed $9.85 billion (around 331 billion baht) across 224 projects, as reported by the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI).
"With supply chains being reshaped worldwide, Thailand has become a premier global manufacturing destination for printed circuit boards," stated Mr. Narit Therdsteerasukdi, Secretary General of the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI). "More than half of the world’s leading PCB manufacturers have chosen Thailand as their production base and are actively expanding operations here to incorporate local suppliers into the international tech ecosystem."
To build on this momentum, the BOI, in partnership with the Thailand Printed Circuit Association (THPCA) and the Hong Kong Printed Circuit Association (HKPCA), is organizing Thailand Electronics Circuit Asia (THECA 2026) from August 26–28 in Bangkok. This international trade fair is anticipated to bring together over 300 global firms and 7,000 industry specialists.
This expansion occurs as Thailand’s advanced electronics market is projected to reach a total value between $48 billion and $52 billion in 2026.
"High-value segments are fueling this market growth, with semiconductors and advanced packaging expected to expand by 15% to 20% annually," said Mr. Pitharn Ongkosit, President of the Thailand Printed Circuit Association. "Meanwhile, demand for AI server and data center infrastructure is rising by up to 22% per year, indicating that advanced electronics is becoming a central pillar of Thailand’s industrial economy."

To address skilled labor shortages—a major obstacle for advanced manufacturing relocation—the Thai government and industry groups are launching dedicated talent programs alongside the event. The BOI and the Office of National Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation Policy Council (NXPO) are creating a talent-matching framework to adapt local engineering and technical workforces to the international manufacturing standards required by multinational tech OEMs.
The event will also include technical forums on Edge AI and future mobility, positioning Thailand’s domestic supply chain to deliver critical components for global markets, from consumer electronics to autonomous systems.
