For those passionate about fireworks, Competition Night presents an uncommon chance to observe a facet of the PGI Convention that many onlookers never get to see. Although public audiences were allowed to attend competition events at certain conventions in the past, this distinctive convention tradition has not been consistently accessible to public audiences in recent times.
This year's Wednesday evening schedule pairs competitive pyrotechnics with several unique exhibition showcases, resulting in one of the most varied and thrilling nights of the entire festival.

A Night Highlighting the Finest of PGI
In contrast to a standard fireworks show, PGI Competition Night emphasizes the inventiveness, skill, and originality of pyrotechnicians from all over the nation as they submit original pieces designed to showcase both technical mastery and artistic flair.

PGI reminds spectators that the Wisconsin Fireworks Festival is accessible to the public only on three specified show nights:

The PGI Convention carries on throughout the week as a private gathering for PGI members and registered convention participants. Local authorities advise the public not to travel to Wisconsin International Raceway on nights that are not public shows.
The track entrance will be closed to the public, public parking lots will not be available, and there is no roadside or shoulder parking near the venue. Vehicles left along roadsides may receive tickets or be towed.
Spectators are urged to attend one of the designated public performances and buy tickets ahead of time.
What Happens if Weather Becomes a Concern?
PGI's objective is always to deliver each show as scheduled. Fireworks presentations are carried out in a broad range of weather conditions, but safety continues to be the organization's foremost concern.
In the event that severe weather makes it unsafe to carry out a performance, PGI's approach is to reschedule rather than cancel the show whenever feasible.
If a postponement becomes required, organizers will make the call as early in the day as possible. All ticket holders will be alerted via email, and tickets will be accepted for the rescheduled performance. Attendees will see the same show they originally purchased.
Any schedule modifications will also be announced through local television news outlets, the PGI website, and PGI social media channels, which together reach more than 1.5 million followers.
