This honor mirrors the daily efforts we put into creating a cultural arts destination where exceptional artists and audiences converge.”— Marjorie Waldo, President & CEO of Arts GarageDELRAY BEACH, FL, UNITED STATES, September 24, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Marjorie Waldo, President and Chief Executive Officer of Arts Garage, a nonprofit multidisciplinary visual and performing arts venue in Downtown Delray Beach, has earned finalist status in the Female Executive of the Year – Government or Non-Profit – 11 to 2,500 Employees category at the 23rd annual Stevie® Awards for Women in Business. The Stevie Awards for Women in Business rank among the world’s foremost award programs honoring the accomplishments of women in executive roles, entrepreneurship, and employment, along with the entities they guide.

Finalists emerged from over 1,500 entries submitted by organizations and individuals globally, determined by the average ratings of more than 190 professionals serving on seven specialized juries. Every finalist will ultimately receive Gold, Silver, or Bronze Stevie Awards, with the outcomes unveiled during the awards gala on November 16, 2026, at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City.

“I feel honored to be selected as a finalist amongst such an impressive cohort of women leaders,” stated Waldo. “I am privileged to guide an institution that brings celebrated artists from across the nation to audiences both local and distant, bolstered by a committed team, skilled performers, and generous benefactors who make Arts Garage such a distinctive venue. This acknowledgment mirrors the daily efforts we put into creating a cultural arts destination where exceptional artists and audiences converge.”

Waldo has helmed Arts Garage since November 2016. She assumed leadership during a phase of financial hardship, which she described as “a turnaround business in the truest sense.” She cleared the organization’s debt, broadened its income sources, and restored confidence among donors and partners. Presently, Arts Garage delivers more than 300 programs annually to over 31,000 attendees from nearly 150 cities across 18 states, generating an estimated $3.8 million in yearly local economic impact.

In 2024, when statewide cultural funding was restructured, Waldo mobilized the community behind Arts Garage via a Call to Action initiative that united donors and civic leaders. Programming and personnel remained intact. In December 2025, the Delray Beach City Commission voted to dedicate $275,000 to sustain Arts Garage through summer 2027, reflecting the city’s trust in the organization and its stewardship.

Waldo has likewise broadened Arts Garage’s influence to audiences spanning all generations. The Kimmel Family Series provides complimentary weekday field trips for area public school students, reaching more than 2,400 elementary pupils during its initial two years. PLACES! A Summer Theatre Camp offers youth aged 8 to 15 hands-on instruction from working theater professionals. The Artists-in-Residence (AiR) Series presents master classes, workshops, and free performances for youth, underserved community members, and lifelong learners. In December 2025, Arts Garage initiated the Senior Series, delivering improv and dance to older adults in senior centers and assisted living facilities, including certain memory care settings, and has since involved over 1,000 participants.

Arts Garage celebrated its 15th anniversary this year, prompting Palm Beach County to issue a proclamation recognizing Waldo’s direction. The venue has been named Guide to Florida’s Best of Florida winner for Theatre Venues for three consecutive years—2024, 2025, and 2026—and secured the 2025 Boca Raton Readers’ Choice Award for Art Gallery. Waldo was featured in Boca Magazine’s 2026 Best of Women in Business, and Arts Garage holds a 2026 Four-Star rating from Charity Navigator alongside a 2026 Platinum Seal of Transparency from Candid.

She has also emerged as a prominent advocate for the arts sector. Waldo hosts Culture Under Fire, a podcast exploring the economic, educational, and human impact of the arts, and consistently champions the arts before local officials and state policymakers. Most recently, she spoke at the 2026 Florida Governor’s Conference on Tourism about how year-round arts programming stimulates local economies.
