RICHMOND, CA, UNITED STATES, September 22, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — The debut Sustainable Richmond Expo 2026 is set to take over the Richmond City Council Chambers on Saturday, September 26, offering a brand-new venue for locals to explore eco-conscious living and meet those actively championing it. This complimentary gathering gives students, teachers, youth groups, community organizations, and environmental advocates the opportunity to hear firsthand from practitioners and contribute to shaping the future of sustainability initiatives across Richmond.
Confirmed participants in the showcase include MCE, Curious Explorers Academy, GRID Alternatives, Oasis Landscape Solutions, Walk & Roll, Power, Cooperation Richmond, Conscious Construction, JC Heating and Air Conditioning, and The Orus, LLC. All Things Good is set to present insights on home energy savings and electrification, featuring electric heat pumps, while Richmond Pacific Railroad—an early champion of ultra-low-emission locomotive technology—will discuss how freight rail contributes to green innovation and sustainable transportation.
Leading the charge is Commissioner Gloria Sewell-Murphy, Founding Chair/Lead of the Sustainability Subcommittee, whose rich background in the arts includes serving as Founding Coordinator/Executive Director of the Oakland Arts Council and introducing the City’s first Comprehensive Cultural Planning and Development Concept Plan. Her artistic background shapes her sustainability vision: both creativity and progress demand the capacity to envision fresh possibilities and turn ideas into tangible impact.

Sustainability Pioneers will be recognized during the event, and Sewell-Murphy will present an exhibit showcasing the eco-friendly goods and services derived from industrial hemp along with other emerging advancements.
City and County representatives will be present, such as former Mayor Gayle McLaughlin, Richmond Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Vernon Whitmore, and Chair Rich Doellstedt. YEE TV youth reporters will interact with attendees and cover the Expo, with live streaming available on YouTube at @CreationsBerkeleyStudio.
