Brazilian studios, service providers and accelerator-backed companies will present new games, business opportunities in Cologne.

Brazil Games, the export initiative for games run by Abragames (the Brazilian Association of Game Developers) in collaboration with ApexBrasil (the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), has revealed its plans to attend gamescom 2026. The event is scheduled for August 19-23 in Cologne, Germany.

Brazil Games is heading back to the planet’s largest video game gathering with a group made up of Brazilian developers, service providers, indie studios, and industry figures. This contingent will be featured in both the business and consumer sections of gamescom, highlighting Brazil’s status as a nation that creates original games, offers specialized production services, and forges lasting ties with the global marketplace.

This effort is part of the ongoing work directed by Abragames and ApexBrasil to help Brazilian game companies expand internationally. At gamescom, Brazil Games will link studios with publishers, investors, platforms, media outlets, and prospective business collaborators, while also offering attendees a chance to discover projects originating from Brazil.

Brazil’s appearance at the event mirrors a sector that has grown more sophisticated over recent years. The delegation includes firms engaged in original intellectual properties, co-development, art, animation, outsourcing, and other niche services. Collectively, they present a fuller view of the Brazilian games industry: inventive, commercially focused, and increasingly equipped to compete in global arenas.

“Brazil is increasingly solidifying its role as a vital partner for the worldwide games industry,” remarked Patricia Sato, Executive Manager at Brazil Games. “Our collaboration with ApexBrasil and Abragames is aimed at generating tangible opportunities for Brazilian companies, ranging from business meetings to exposure for fresh projects. Brazil possesses talent, technical know-how, and a distinct creative identity, and we want the global market to witness that firsthand.”

Brazil Takes the Spotlight at gamescom’s Indie Area

For the first time ever, Brazil Games will run a dedicated pavilion within gamescom’s Indie Area, offering a fresh platform for up-and-coming Brazilian studios and original IPs. This pavilion will unite efforts and backing from the Brazil Games Accelerator, Embratur, and Sebrae-SP, collectively showcasing dozens of Brazilian-developed titles to global audiences during the entire event.

As the pavilion’s primary exhibitor, the Brazil Games Accelerator will feature a handpicked collection of games from its most recent cohort, underscoring the program’s role in supporting promising Brazilian studios with international expansion potential.

This Indie Area involvement represents a significant milestone for Brazil’s independent development landscape. It provides international audiences with direct exposure to games shaped by Brazilian creators, featuring projects that draw on various regions, influences, narratives, and styles from across the nation.

A Consolidated B2B Presence at gamescom

Alongside its consumer-facing efforts, Brazil Games will keep a robust presence in the B2B zone, arranging meetings between Brazilian firms and international publishers, investors, service providers, and industry players.

Participating companies will showcase both original game concepts and specialized development services, underscoring Brazil’s reputation as a dependable partner for co-development, outsourcing, and creative teamwork.

For gamescom 2026, Brazil Games has also broadened its business support resources and industry catalogs, introducing dedicated publications centered on games and service providers. The aim is to simplify the process for international partners to grasp what Brazilian companies offer, identify potential collaborators, and initiate discussions during the event.

This commercial emphasis is central to the Brazil Games Export Program. The program’s involvement in international events goes beyond simple promotion. It is crafted to assist Brazilian companies in accessing markets, cultivating relationships, and converting visibility into concrete opportunities.

Brazil’s Expanding Games Ecosystem

Brazil Games’ attendance at gamescom 2026 occurs at a moment when the Brazilian game development sector is drawing growing international interest, fueled by initiatives that promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and export readiness.

The delegation will highlight upcoming projects slated for release over the next two years, including titles from the Brazil Games Accelerator and other development programs tied to the country’s industry growth.

By uniting established firms and new studios, Brazil Games seeks to reinforce Brazil’s standing as a key participant in the international games market. This initiative also highlights the role of Abragames and ApexBrasil in creating links between Brazilian companies and global partners.
Brazil’s presence at gamescom also serves as a reminder of what distinguishes the country’s game industry: a blend of technical proficiency, creative drive, cultural diversity, and the capacity to collaborate with partners from various markets. From business meetings to the Indie Area, Brazil Games will present a nation that is prepared not only to display its games but also to engage in commerce with the world.

Further details about participating companies, featured games, and meeting opportunities at gamescom 2026 will be released in the coming weeks.
