Anthropic Signs Multiyear Deal With CoreWeave to Secure Nvidia GPU Infrastructure for Claude

Anthropic has signed a multiyear agreement with CoreWeave to lease data center computing capacity, according to a Bloomberg report, as the maker of the Claude AI model moves aggressively to secure additional infrastructure to keep pace with surging demand. The deal adds Anthropic to CoreWeave’s growing roster of top-tier AI lab customers, which already includes Meta, OpenAI, and Perplexity.

A New Tier of Computing Commitment

The agreement will give Anthropic access to Nvidia chip architectures at CoreWeave’s U.S. data centers. CoreWeave CEO Michael Intrator confirmed the deal, though financial terms were not disclosed. CoreWeave shares gained in trading following the announcement.

The deal comes on the heels of CoreWeave’s blockbuster week: the company had just announced a $21 billion expanded partnership with Meta through December 2032, bringing CoreWeave’s total revenue backlog to roughly $87.8 billion — a figure that underscores how completely the AI infrastructure race has transformed the commercial landscape for cloud providers.

Anthropic’s Compute Hunger

Anthropic has been on a rapid infrastructure buildout as demand for its Claude models accelerates at a pace few companies in history have matched. The company’s revenue run rate surpassed $30 billion — more than tripling from approximately $9 billion at the end of 2025 — with its business customer base doubling to more than 1,000 enterprise clients in recent months.

The CoreWeave deal is one piece of a broader compute diversification strategy. Earlier in April, Anthropic announced an agreement with Google and Broadcom for approximately 3.5 gigawatts of next-generation TPU capacity expected to come online starting in 2027 — the company’s largest single compute commitment to date. Anthropic currently trains and runs Claude across all three major cloud platforms: AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure.

The Race to Lock In Capacity

For CoreWeave, the Anthropic partnership further diversifies a customer base that now spans all of the leading AI frontier labs. The company, which went public on Nasdaq in March 2025, is targeting more than five gigawatts of AI computing capacity by 2030. With Anthropic now in the fold alongside Meta, OpenAI, and Microsoft, CoreWeave has established itself as the infrastructure backbone of the AI era.
