Dr. Lee Weisbard of Denver to Spotlight Oral Health at FunFerence™ 2026, Oct. 7–10

Weisbard will connect oral health with overall wellness, discuss her personal breast cancer journey, and provide a discounted exam plus breast cancer awareness bracelets to the first 40 booth visitors.

“An evaluation doesn't prevent anything on its own. What it does is surface what's happening early enough that you still have options, often easier and less costly ones than you'd have down the road.”— Dr. Lee Weisbard, D.D.S.

Roughly half of American adults aged 30 and above suffer from periodontal disease, with the majority unaware of their condition. CDC statistics featured in the Journal of Dental Research indicate that 47.2%—about 64.7 million adults—are affected, with the rate climbing to 70.1% for those over 65. In its early stages, gum disease presents no pain, making awareness the primary challenge before treatment ever becomes necessary. The issue isn't whether women in leadership prioritize their health. It's whether anyone has informed them that oral health matters.

Weisbard Dental, the Greenwood Village practice led by Dr. Lee Weisbard, D.D.S., has revealed its Duchess-level sponsorship of FunFerence 2026, The Dames' fifth annual gathering, scheduled for October 7–10 at Denver's Limelight Hotel. Dr. Weisbard, a longtime member of The Dames, will address roughly 120 women CEOs and Founders during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Her presentation begins with a straightforward idea: you can't prevent what you haven't noticed, and you can't improve what you haven't addressed. For most people, awareness of their oral health stops at whether something currently hurts.

"You don't know what you don't know," said Dr. Lee Weisbard, D.D.S., founder of Weisbard Dental. "That isn't a failure of discipline, it's how our health works. Gum disease doesn't hurt until it's more advanced. A cracked tooth doesn't announce itself until it breaks. Women schedule their mammogram and their colonoscopy without a second thought. Oral health belongs on that same list, for exactly the same reason."

In her talk, Dr. Weisbard will reference her own experiences, including a health concern she postponed addressing longer than she should have. Her goal isn't to preach. Rather, she understands firsthand how simple it is to delay self-care. The key message she emphasizes is practical: self-care includes oral self-care, with cleanings and checkups belonging on the same agenda as the screenings women already arrange.

That perspective aligns directly with FunFerence's purpose, which is to help women operating six- to eight-figure businesses expand without compromising their health in the process.

What the Comprehensive Oral Health Evaluation Includes

Dr. Weisbard considers oral health screenings so essential that she is providing a 90-minute evaluation. It aims to offer attendees a comprehensive view of their oral health status. The assessment covers X-rays, photographs, periodontal charting, an oral cancer screening, a hard and soft tissue evaluation, and a TMJ, muscle, and bite analysis.

Dr. Weisbard personally goes over the results with each patient, clarifying what they indicate and highlighting any areas requiring attention.

“An evaluation doesn't prevent anything on its own,” Weisbard said. “What it does is surface what's happening early enough that you still have options, often easier and less costly ones than you'd have down the road.”
